I am a Brooklyn-based artist and a New York State and New York City certified art teacher. I have eighteen years of experience teaching art in a public elementary school in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. My role has enabled me to work closely with cultural institutions in dance, theater, and music, and it has allowed me to integrate my curriculum with the design and creation of scenery and costumes with my students for performances. I was named "Teacher of the Year" by National Dance Institute in Manhattan. I am responsible for the development and display of children’s artwork for other large, literacy-based school events.

Several of my students have had their work selected to be shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's P.S. Art Exhibit as well as at the Brooklyn Borough Arts Festival. I have organized an annual school-wide art exhibit showing artwork by all 800+ students’ work for the past fourteen years for the entire school community to experience. Part of my learning experiences include teaching art to children in a homeless shelter and at a Saturday art program given by the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan.

I have been showing work at BWAC (Brooklyn Waterfront Artist Coalition) for the last seven years and I am a commissioned artist whose work is displayed in private collections. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Long Island University, I hold a certificate in art education from the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, and have a Master of Science degree in Art and Design Education from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
